A Little Bit About Us
The Circle consists of enthusiastic members who meet a couple of times each week to share their common interest in railways. We have several model railway layouts (details of which appear here), all of which are built to exhibition standard. However, you don't have to be interested in model railways in order to join: the Circle actively promotes interest in all aspects of railways and associated commercial transport. We welcome members who are not railway modellers, but who enjoy being in the company of like-minded enthusiasts.

We offer several classes of membership, designed to cover a number of age ranges and needs. These are detailed below. Further details can be obtained by . Classes of Membership and Membership Subscription Rates

ADULT - full adult membership cover all activities within the Circle. £31.50
JUNIOR - from age range 0-16 years. £10.50
Whilst membership of the Circle is not considered suitable for young children below the age of 12, we do encourage parents or guardians to join the Circle and to bring along and supervise those who are minors. We have a 'family' membership rate to cover this instance (see below).
SENIOR CITIZEN - we offer a reduced subscription rate to those who are over 60. £16.50
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP - this is designed for those who wish to be part of the Circle and who are unable to take part in the clubroom based activities. We have a number of 'postal' members around the country who simply wish to keep in touch by being an Associate Member through our monthly magazine 'Linesider'. £22.00
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP - designed to allow parents and children to become members with a saving over individual subscription rates an attractive proposition. We do prefer this option with young children who must be supervised by parents during clubroom opening hours or other activities.
Family: 1 Adult + 1 Junior - 15% off the combined adult/junior rate combination
Family: 1 Adult + 2 Juniors - 15% off the combined adult/junior rate combination
HUSBAND & WIFE - designed to offer a saving over the individual adult membership. £49.00

These rates are active from 1 January 2008. There is a reduction applied to the above rates for 'part-year' joiners (roughly a twelfth off for each complete month of the year elapsed). Please contact the for full details of this facility, or membership of the Circle in general.

After your application for membership has been accepted by the Committee, you will also be asked for your subscription. You will receive a copy of the Circle's rules and of its constitution, and will be asked to sign your confirmation that you will abide by them.
