The Story behind the model
My latest venture takes me back to my return to model railways back in the mid seventies.
I have been collecting suitable stock for the project for about 5 years with the intention of building a small ex-Great Western station set in the mid 1960s.
The period chosen gives me the option to run ex-Great Western stock in BR western region liveries and a selection of green diesels and railcars.
Chebstone is set in the south west, and the halt survives because of the small English China Clays ECC depot and local Military Base (off-scene) which both generate traffic.
The locals used Chebstone to travel to the big town for the their shopping needs and local farmers to get their produce to market.
Any Chebstone exhibition bookings are shown in our Events Calendar page.
