Amerton Railway Summer Gala
Staffordshire Engines Gala 29/30 June 2019
The Amerton Railway
The Amerton Railway is to hold its Summer Steam Gala on 29/30 June 2019 and this year there is a special theme of Staffordshire Engines. The one mile line will play host to 5 Staffordshire built steam locos from Bagnall, Kerr Stuart and Baguley. We are very pleased to welcome Burton on Trent built Baguley Rishra to the railway for the first time alongside newly restored Kerr Stuart Peter Pan both from Leighton Buzzard. The home fleet of Bagnall Isabel and Kerr Stuarts Diana and Lorna Doone will be represented together with a number of Baguley diesels. It will also be a great opportunity to see two Kerr Stuart Wrens in full Devon County Council livery. An intensive service of passenger and goods trains will operate and road steam will be well represented too. Director John Strike said “This is a wonderful opportunity to bring five steam locos together all built in the County of Staffordshire and for Rishra there is a fair chance that this will be the first time back in the County since she was built in Burton 98 years ago!”
