San Clemente 3.5mm HO
San Clemente is set in Southern California in the late 1950s. The layout portrays freight only branch line operations catering mainly for the local agricultural industry.
The area is served by two railroads – the ATSF (Santa Fe) and SP (Southern Pacific). No doubt an unlikely scenario in real life but it helps to add variety to the operations and a bit of extra colour.
The layout is unusual in being a “U” shape, 6ft x 6ft, operated from the centre and viewed on 3 sides. This gives a greater impression of distance betwen the various loading and unloading spots when one is in the middle of the layout.
Track is Peco code 83 and the points are all powered by Cobalt Digital IP motors, all controlled by a Lenz wireless walk-around throttle.
