A FOUR FOOT X ONE FOOT N GAUGE SHUNTING LAYOUT SHOWING HOW TO CREATE A SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE SCENIC WORKING LAYOUT IN A SMALL AREA. The Doe Lea branch is a mothballed railway line in Derbyshire, England THE LAYOUT IS NOT BASED ON THE ORIGINAL DOE LEA STATION.

THIS LAYOUT HAS A THREE-FOOT WORKING SCENIC AREA AND A ONE-FOOT TRAVERSER PLATE TO HOLD STOCK READY FOR SHUNTING.

FINE SCALE CODE 55 PECO TRACK IS USED THROUGHOUT.2 SETS OF POINTS ARE OPEREATED WITH 6 MM DOWELING WITH A 2MM DRILL BIT CONNECTING THE DOWEL TO THE POINT.

COUPLING AND UNCOUPLING IS WITH MAGNETS OPERATED BY HAND FROM UNDER THE LAYOUT.WITHIN THE TRACK BED ARE SEVERAL NAILS CUT FLUSH TO THE SLEEPERS AND WITH PECO NR103 LIFT ARMS FITTED TO THE STOCKS COUPLINGS.
