The Staffordshire Industrial Archaeology Society has providied us with the following information regarding a lecture at Tixall:
On Jan 7th 2019 at the Village hall at Tixall ST18 OXT, Doors open at 19.00hrs for 19.30hrs start. One of our members, David Baddeley will be giving a lecture
“My Unusual Steam Locomotives”.
David is interested in old and unusual machines of all kinds, human, steam, water or wind powered. The locomotives he will include range from an 18inch gauge 0-4-0. ‘Pet’ to a superpower. 2-8-8-8-8-8-2. standard gauge,10 cylinder steam locomotive, then there is the big Belgium one.
As David has only “general old machinery knowledge”, he would welcome the more expert railway viewpoint on these locomotives. There is a small charge of £2 for non-members, which includes coffee/tea and biscuit. If you are hoping to come please let David 01 785 253 734, as we would not like to run out of drinks.
