Atherley Narrows 3.5mm/HO
Scale/Gauge HO 3.5mm
Prototype Canadian Pacific Railway in the 1990’s
Size (including operating space) 20ft x 8ft (a further extension overleaf)
Description:
The layout was inspired by a location in southern Ontario where a now disused line crossed a swing bridge. The model resurrects this line as a busy bypass line owned by CP Rail. The main line is flanked by loops serving a variety of rail served industries and some quite long through trains can be seen. Given the volume of traffic we have working CTC signals for the main line. Locomotives are ready to run models with added details and alterations to represent actual Canadian locomotives. Whilst it is not possible to run the typical mile long trains which operate on the transcontinental main lines in Canada, the layout hopefully recreates something of the atmosphere of the more local aspects of Canadian railroading.
