Devils Bridge was the terminus of the Vale of Rheidol Railway, a two-foot gauge line running from Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge. Built in 1902 it was subsequently owned by the Cambrian in 1913, the Great western in 1923, and then British Railways in 1948, becoming the last BR operational steam line until sold to the present owners in 1988. Unlike most other preserved railways, it did not have a period of closure between it being part of the nationalised system and becoming a heritage railway. It now operates as a service for both locals and visiting tourists. The model is built to OO9 scale and is modelled to full scale size. All locomotives and stock are kit built.
