Lochgorm

Lochgorm portrays a small terminus set in the North East of Scotland. As with many layouts, it doesn’t follow a strict prototype but does its best to convey the feel and atmosphere of the area.

The layout is set in the early 1960s, a time when the northern part of Scotland was fully dieselised. Trains seen include local passenger, longer distance passenger and freight, including fish.

The layout has an interesting history having started life as an HO layout set in East Germany under the name of Neuburg. For several years I had thought of rebranding it as the trackplan was suitable and all that was need was the courage to send the demolition crew in and remove the buildings and signals, plus anything else that might betray the new setting.
