Derby 1985
From David Hughes:
Armed with your Midland Area Railtourer £3 ticket, the East Midlands was a popular spot to see a variety of trains. In the BR era, locos would work anything, with Peaks and 47s appearing on freight and passenger trains. The date of this visit was 27th August 1975 and the pictures show how busy things were through Derby. All long distance trains were ‘proper’ trains with up to 12 coaches on. No nasty 4 Car Voyagers about! Today, the station has been completely rebuilt and the track layout changed. It is still a good place for freight, although mostly Class 66s now.
