Mill Stream Lane, Burton
We go back to 2004, to Mill Stream Lane, Burton. It is located north of Burton, off the road into Burton just after the interchange with the A38 at Claymills. The lane is not made up and is a bit hairy in places – potholes like you’ve never seen before! But the reward when you get to the railway is worth it. There is a footbridge with fine views of the line in both directions. An added bonus is the crossing at Claymills which provides notification of approaching trains. A good train watching place.
Back then we had central trains and Virgin providing the passenger services and EWS and Freighliner on freight.
170 399 in advertising livery heading south.
170 516 heading north.
Northbound Virgin voyager.
Frieghliner 66 574 on a northbound intemrodal.
EWS 60 005 on a southbound steel train.
Finally, for modellers, a couple of detail shots of the occupation crossing.
