Ffestiniog Railway Covid 19 Service
From Cliff Homer
All these photos were taken on Thursday 30th July at Minfordd and Tany-y-Bwlch showing the temporary service that is on offer at the present time. Only the Ffestiniog trains are operating and then only from Porthmadog to Tany-y-Bwlch and return. There are six trains per day, starting at 10am and every 65 minutes thereafter. Loco No 5 is officially not working as it has not been yet presented to its rebuild supporters, but has been pressed into service as only 0-4-0s are required to haul the trains to keep costs down. No 5 is to be renamed ‘Welsh Pony’ as soon as it is possible to arrange a naming ceremony. There is currently NO service on the Welsh Highland line at all.
